DJ La Moon + JNA LEA Bring CIELO with Happy Synths in a Sexy Universe

Summer’s not over yet—and CIELO might just be the soundtrack you need to ride out the season with fire and fantasy.

Released on June 20, 2025, the track is a collaboration between DJ La Moon, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and now based in Austin, and JNA LEA, a genre-blending producer who grew up between Southeast Texas and Rancho Cucamonga, CA. With roots in reggaeton, electronic, and hip-hop, the two artists combine powerful rhythms with emotional textures—creating something both playful and potent.

CIELO was born in a spontaneous session at JNA LEA’s home studio. She began building a beat filled with bright, fantasy-like synths, and DJ La Moon—feeling herself that day—freestyled vocals that brought the song to life. “I felt free, aligned, confident, sexy, and on top of the world,” says DJ La Moon.

JNA LEA added synths, basslines, and polished the arrangement over several weeks of writing melodies and fine-tuning the production. Although the track was created two years ago, it still sounds fresh and relevant. “Having a unique sound and being yourself doesn’t get old,” says JNA LEA.

For DJ La Moon, CIELO reflects the confidence and clarity she now has in her music and creative vision.

Despite the challenge of working in separate studios and time zones, the pair’s trust and chemistry from past experience made CIELO come together seamlessly.

The song itself is a layered interpretation of two distinct perspectives, DJ La Moon calls it “a holy perreo,” while JNA LEA describes it as “a sugar rush… like candy meets a 90s hip-hop mixtape.”

CIELO isn’t just a vibe—it’s a reminder of what happens when two creative women bring their worlds together to make bold, limitless music. Even though most of DJ La Moon’s vocals are in Spanish, JNA LEA captures the energy and essence with perfect synergy.

The visual, a “mic drop” performance at Mayfield Park, was filmed and edited by Chinasa Broxton. For DJ La Moon, releasing a visual was essential: it enhances the emotion, color, sensuality, and joy the track delivers.
