2025 ACL Music Fest Weekend 2 - Sunday 10/12/2025 Recap
Austin, Texas – The last day of ACL Weekend Two arrived, and we were ready to end this coverage the right way. After a long Saturday night, some fuel was needed before hitting the stages, and what better way to replenish energy than with Austin food staples? La Santa Barbacha and KG BBQ were on deck for lunch—a perfect pregame-hungover before diving into music one last time.
The first stop of the day was Midnight Generation, the funk-infused band from Chihuahua. At 4:30 PM, they took the Tito’s stage and brought a wave of energy that felt both nostalgic and futuristic. Someone once said on social media that Midnight Generation is what you’d get if Parcels and Daft Punk had a baby, and standing in that crowd, it felt spot on. Their set was groovy, infectious, and exactly the jumpstart needed to shake off Saturday’s fatigue.

His performance at the T-Mobile Stage was more than just a set, it was a cultural gathering, especially for our Colombianas & Colombianos. We as Latinos came out in force in these types of sets, but so did anyone willing to get down with our rhythms. The backdrop of the Windows 95 homescreen with chats on the giant screen sparked teenage nostalgia, blending seamlessly with Fercho’s sound. It was a reminder of how our culture adapts, reinvents, and connects across generations.

Sunday evening felt just right, Zilker Park bathed in a cool breeze, dark sky, and free box water provided by ACL Music Fest organizers to keep the crowd hydrated. I got close to the stage this time, waiting over an hour, but it was worth it. Summit brought the full rave experience with lasers, flames, lightning visuals, and nonstop beats. The highlight? When Cloves came out as a surprise guest to sing “Focus”—a perfect peak for the night for the T-Mobile Stage.

Brandon Flowers, sharp in a turquoise suit with a black button-up, commanded the stage with elegance, while the rest of the band kept it classic in black. The crowd had room to move and enjoy the set from different vantage points, which made it feel intimate despite the massive turnout. The band wrapped up with “Human” and “When You Were Young”, an outro that reminded us why The Killers remain timeless.

The first time I ever played soccer was at Zilker Park, and ten years later, I stood in the same park covering ACL Music Fest. That full-circle moment wasn’t lost on me. I’m grateful to the organizers for the opportunity, to the artists for the memories, and to everyone who has believed in and supported Otra X Favor. Here’s to more stages, more stories, and more ways to bring our culture forward.
